Silent Print Reports

Silent Printing is a Report Center function that limits the involvement of the user after the initial print setup to allow direct printing of data records without the need to go through the usual print confirmations, prompt messages and page previews.

The purpose of this function is to skip further interruptions when batch printing reports, receipts, invoices, sales order, cheque & remittances, customer lists, journal reports, analysis, etc. by bypassing the print dialog box and other unecessary steps.

 

Silent Print Report from the Report Center

To silent print report for the Report Center,

  1. Go to the Report Center > Reports Explorer to search any report or document template.

    Alternatively, you can type the template keyword from the Report Explorer search bar to locate the report template.

  2. Edit the report template as needed. Once done, click the Print dropdown arrow, then select Print to proceed with the direct printing.

    You may need to set up the preferences (e.g. file type, number of pages, file location, printer connection, etc.) from the Print Dialog. This will be set as the default print settings for your next reports. Refer to Print Report.

  3. You will be prompted to save the report.

  4. By clicking Yes, the system will create a copy of the edited report, and will be saved to the Custom Reports folder.

    Select No to simply print out the report without saving.

In some cases, a prompt message will also inform you about margin errors in printing the report. Select Yes to proceed with the printing without adjusting the margins. Select No to continue with the editing of the report. This will allow users to adjust the paper size, margins and orientation in the Page Setup.

Silent Print Report from Entity Forms

Users can also perform silent printing straight from Connected Business’ forms (e.g. Sales Invoice form). To do this:

  1. Go to any module in Connected Business. Select and open a specific form on the list.

  2. From the form, click the Print dropdown arrow.

  3. The system will now directly print out all printable reports related to the information of the form.

Silent Printing is applicable to all report-generating forms in Connected Business.
